Handball Federation Continuously Updates Membership Services With Plastic Card Printing System

Customer:

The French Handball Federation (FFHB), with headquarters in Paris, has 220,000 active members and sanctions one grand tournament and many other tournaments throughout each year.

Challenge:

Membership cards had to be upgraded to more adequately reflect the stature and prestige of the organization. There was also a need to quickly and efficiently produce VIP badges, at times amounting to more than 3,000, for each of the Federation's scheduled tournaments.

Product:

Eltron's P300C printer. P300 Series printers come standard with Windows™ drivers and WindCard™ software. Their surprisingly small footprint and easy-loading, minimal maintenance design make desk-top operation simple and efficient. They print sharp, readable bar codes, graphics and text in less than five seconds. Optional features include magnetic stripe and Smart chip encoding.

All P Series on-demand plastic card printers offer sharp 300 dpi print resolution. Durable design features give you full color value or monochrome economy, and assure the portability necessary for on-demand personal identification card printing.

Use P300 printers to print:

  • Membership cards
  • Visitor and employee badges
  • Identification and access control cards
  • Student identification cards

Result:

Each member of the FFHB now has a personalized full color plastic card that incorporates the Federation logo, name and photo of the member, license number and current year. The improvement in quality and appearance of the new cards, compared with their predecessors, is readily apparent

At the recent Paris Bercy International Tournament, more than 3,000 cards were printed and sent in advance to dignitaries, staff and press to allow entry to the Tournament enclosure and parking area. The cards were the only form of monitoring as the card recipients moved around the site and attended special events such as post-match dinners.

Through the use of the P300C printer, the Federation has not only developed a more effective system, but it has also avoided the expense of subcontracting its card printing to an outside supplier.
